Is Delta 8 Legal?
The ability to source industrial hemp initially created a loophole in the legality of Delta 8, which is known to have effects similar to Delta 9. While Delta 8's effects are not quite as intense as Delta 9's, and without the anxiety effects, it is preferable for cannabis users who have anxiety issues. A loophole in the legality of Delta 8 was created when the Agriculture Act of 2018 classified high-THC marijuana from low-THC hemp to legalize the latter and its production without technically legalizing a THC compound. This legalization was further updated in the summer of 2020 with new rules. Delta 8 products are completely legal in Texas because of Texas House Bill 1325. The bill makes hemp plant and any parts of the plant, including the plant's seeds and all derivatives, cannabinoids, extracts, including Delta 8 THC, isomers, salts, acids, with less than 0.3 % of Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis.
According to Ohio state law, Delta 8 THC is legal in this US state as well. Ohio also has legalized all cannabinoids, derivatives, and hemp isomers, including all Tetrahydrocannabinols containing less than 0.3 percent of THC Delta 9. Meaning that Delta 8 is entirely legal in Ohio too, and you can purchase your desired products online that will be shipped safely to your home.
Unlike Ohio and Texas, Colorado has not accepted the legality of hemp-derived products. Only 11 US states have banned it. These states are Rhode Island, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Mississippi, Colorado, Delaware, Arkansas, Iowa, Arizona, and Alaska. Though Delta 8 THC may not be legal in all 50 states, yet it is legal in most of them.
Although there is still nothing definite about the specific legalization of Delta 8, the acceptance of most US states confirms that substances derived from hemp (containing less than 0.3% THC) are not THC under US law. Gray areas are all but legal in the world of legal cannabis these days, and that is how Delta 8 THC can be found in tons of places without a prescription.

Does Delta 8 Have Therapeutic Properties?

Similar to regular THC, Delta 8 binds to CB1 receptors in the central nervous system and the CB2 receptor. Based on preliminary research results and experience reports, Delta 8 is similar to a "light" variant of the traditional THC (Delta 9) and produces a slightly calming effect without the typical mental stimulation-induced THC. Since it is an analog of Delta 9, the THC Delta 8 variant has also shown analgesic, antiemetic, anxiolytic, appetite-stimulating, and neuroprotective properties in testing contexts, although it produces more moderate psychotropic effects than THC. In addition, in high doses, Delta 8 appears to induce less anxiety than Delta 9. While psychoactive THC Delta 9 can be problematic for patients predisposed to panic and anxiety, THC Delta 8 has the potential to produce therapeutic effects with little to no intoxicating effects at low doses. Indeed, some users report that Delta 8 has the same medicinal efficacy as Delta 9 but allows them to stay focused while working or doing regular daily tasks. In a laboratory environment, it was shown in mice that very low doses of Delta 8, as expected, increase food intake. More significantly, the cannabinoid has already been successfully tested as an antiemetic medication in pediatric oncology. Eight children aged from 3 to 13 years who were suffering from various hematological cancer were given THC Delta 8. The children underwent chemotherapy before a new contemporary treatment with Delta 8. During the experimental treatment with this unique cannabinoid, for most patients, nausea and vomiting were prevented entirely, and other side effects of chemotherapy were reduced.

Where Can You Get Safe Delta 8 THC Products?

Delta 8 THC is one of the most popular products in the cannabis market nowadays. It is a legal alternative to THC that gives users a moderate yet fun and uplifting high. There is little in how clinical research invests Delta 8's potential to reduce anxiety. However, some research suggests that Delta 8-infused products provide a pleasantly calm, focused, and stress-free high. Delta 8 also has numerous medical benefits, many of which have been researched and proven through scientific research.
Recent reports have hit the internet of Delta 8 THC products contaminated with bleach. According to investigators, thousands of Delta 8 products are contaminated with bleach that consumers never know about. But there is a reason for that - to get rid of the natural pink color of Delta 8, as clear is often a quality feature for distillates. The researchers say that the new products which are not regulated can be tricky, and it is necessary to keep an eye on manufacturing practices to make sure no corners are cut. Maybe bleaching is a problem, but perhaps it is not at all. It certainly can not be seen from the information at the moment. In the future, more must be done to ensure an unregulated situation.
